About the bands:

Za Frûmi
--------
Za Frûmi is a Waerloga records band from Sweden who started their long journey in the year 2000. Since then Za Frûmi (Simon Kölle and Simon Heath) have made 4 full length CDs. The first two were unique in their kind as they focused on a wayward group of orcs. On the CDs the orcs act and speak (in orcish, black speech) as the fantasy music is heard. Played out before one's eyes are incredible scenes and a wonderful story. The main character is the leader of the orcs: Uglakh!
The last two CDs have been instrumental and that´s the other branch of Za Frûmi: The legends of Za Frûmi. The first Legend CD included music from an inn, a troll forest, a haunted keep, the dwarwen wars and so on. All songs are about Legends in the world of Za Frûmi.
The second Legends CD is once more focused on vampires. Two vampires. Za Frûmi recently got back to the studio to start working on the third chapter in the saga about the orcs.
During the years Za Frûmi has been given cult status. Both Simons have their solo projects and side projects but remain true to Za Frûmi.

Cryo
----
Cryo is Anders Dahlgren. This is a new unsigned project which has great potential. The song Lithiel is very good dark fantasy music. Anders runs the fantasy music radiostation called Radio Rivendell which we can recommend.

Balaghan
--------
This is the solo project of Bernard Kahlen from Germany. Bernard creates very filmmusic-like fantasy music which has never been released before.
After a serious accident Bernard had to stop playing the piano for a while which was a big break in his life. After that he started again and worked hard to make music and played for a year in his father’s jazz band. Now for four years he has done electronic music mostly with the computer. Bernard might be at the beginning of something great!

Alvskugga
---------
One of the many projects of Simon Heath is called Alvskugga (Elven shadow). This is middle age inspired music with a flavor of the eastern. This project is proof of Simon Heath´s great potential as a musician and composer. This project is not yet signed because Simon has not done enough songs and been too busy with all his other projects. The track on the compilation is a piece with nice variation!

Autumn tears
------------
Autumn Tears came about in the tenebrous gloom of September 1995, two dark souls joined creative forces to become Autumn Tears. Erika (vocals, musical arrangements), and Ted (keyboards and piano, musical arrangements, vocals), set out to create music which illustrated the darkness writhing within their souls.
After an intensive period of song writing and rehearsing, they entered West Sound Studios to commit to tape the works they had created. In April of 1996, their first CD, "Love Poems for Dying Children: Act I" was released through Dark Symphonies.
In 1997 Erika left Autumn Tears after their second release to pursue writing her novel. New vocalist Jennifer LeeAnna was recruited for her extensive experience and tremendous talent. In 2001 new members came along: Terran Olson (ex-maudlin of the Well, Kayo Dot) performing live clarinet and flutes, Greg Ball (ex- Long Winters Stare, Sound of Enoch) performing upright contrabass and classical
guitar, and Laurie Ann Haus (Ex-Rain Fell Within, Todesbonden, Ephemeral Sun) performing lead and backing vocals.
During the years this band from the USA has released a lot of cds in a fantasy music style which are poetic and romantic.

Musterion
---------
This is a solo project of Simon Kölle. The music is dark, surreal and inspired by the likes of H.P. Lovecraft, David Lynch, William S Burroughs and Jerzy Grotowski.
Musterion is fresh music which injects new life into the genre of Darkwave. The music is created with lots of sounds, instruments, electronic soundscapes and improvisation.
Musterion is signed on the Czech label Horus Cyclic Daemon which has released a couple of his songs on compilations so far. The full length debut will be released spring/summer 2005 and will be titled: The Black Lodge.
Musterion is a project in the new movement called Holyism.

Encryption
----------
Encryption had their debut CD released and re-released on Waerloga records. The project is the work of Lady Clarisse and Lacrimas from Belgium. The music is classical compositions which create a dark gothic atmosphere. A Chinese review of Encryptions debut CD (Secrecy) said it all (or not?):"Encryption Secrecy... In the bloody dark, ghost is howling around, just like souls fly and reach the sky...Heavenly voices from Medieval kingdom... Enigma meets Dead Can Dance and Jack or Jive?..."
Synthesizers, keyboards and programming are used to create the gothic, classical atmosphere. Added to that is the angelic female voice of Lady Clarisse.
Recently Encryption got a new (full time member) female singer to back up Lady Clarisse on the upcoming CD.
Being a Waerloga band Encryption will later this year have their second CD released.

Patrice Deceuninck
------------------
Patrice is a French music teacher and composer of film music. Patrice works at a music school in Lille where he teaches bass guitar and computer-assisted music.
In one project Patrice worked with an orchestra which performed his music. It was the Saint-Petersburg State Academic Symphonic Orchestra and it all ended up on a CD called "The ring Bearer".
On the compilation Patrice participates with one of his songs from the score of a short movie called Temps Mort.

OverCoat
--------
American Scott "OverCoat" Porter is the youngest artist on this compilation. He is a promising unsigned musician. The idea behind the compilation was to mix new talents not yet signed with established acts. Scott is mainly into making music for computer games. His track on this compilation is exotic and is inspired by the city of
Alexandria.

Atrium Carceri
--------------
This is the praised solo project of Simon Heath. Atrium has released two CDs on Swedish label Cold Meat Industry and has been on some compilations. Atrium Carceri is pushing the limit of darkwave and horror with great care. The track on the compilation stands out as one of the darker ones.

Rising Shadows
--------------
Rising Shadows are Fredrik Klingwall and Linda-li Dahlin from Sweden.
Fredrik started doing music in 1996 with this project (under another name). The band is not yet signed but in many people's opinion they should be soon.
The music is mood-filled and haunting. Rising Shadows is dark fantasy with Linda-li on vocals. No lyrics, just sheer mood. If you think of vampires listening to the track called Vacui on the compilation, you are not alone.

Vurpa
-----
Lisa Kaisajuntti, Åsa Norrlid, Anna Larsson, Jennie Lundgren, Linda Ånger and Elisabeth Lutteman are the six ladies behind the Swedish middle age music group: Vurpa!
Normally they sing in Swedish but on the compilation track they participate with an instrumental piece called Swift Wings. Vurpa is one of the historically inspired acts on the compilation. They have released some CDs independently and will surprise many if they are not signed by a label soon. Vurpa is touring mostly Sweden playing their great music live. They only use real instruments.

The Soil Bleeds Black
---------------------
The Soil Bleeds Black explore the traditions and customs of medieval Europe with the ambition of drawing the listener into a world of the ancient past. To listen is to immerse oneself in Middle Age atmospheres and customs. One may visit the valor of knights on the battefield, savor the simplicity of common peasant life, explore the laboratory of the magician, or seek the romance of lovers, musicians, and poets. All intriguing lifestyles are given attention within the musical expressions of TSBB.
The Soil Bleeds Black was conceived in the year 1992 as a project that focused on the experimental visions of twin brothers, Mark and Michael Riddick. Over the years the concepts changed as the brothers searched for a complete sound that could appropriately exhibit their transformative thoughts and interests. This endeavor reached a particular climax in the year 1994, when TSBB took on a sound of pure medieval folkloric expression.
Essentially, The Soil Bleeds Black aim to convey an enchanting conglomeration of raw sound, middle age custom, and self-expression through ancient allegory, alchemical tract, and their entourage of medieval instruments. This American act is well known in the underground scene of Renaissance music.
The three members: Eugenia, Mark and Michael Riddick have released over 10 CDs and been on 20 compilations (or more) over the years!
World Serpent, Draenor Prod and Fossil Dungeon are among the labels that have released TSBB.

Vox Vulgaris
------------
Like Vurpa, Vox Vulgaris is a Swedish middle age (folk) music group playing only live instruments. They also travel mostly Sweden playing music in festivals and in concerts.
Vox Vulgaris are Max Persson, Jon Cullblad, Rasmus Fleischer and Joel Lindefors.
The band has an idea of playing middle age music in a modern way but still totally middle age. They don´t use any modern instruments but like to improvise and to create new Middle age music. Vox Vulgaris has one independent release behind them. A CD titled "The Shape of Medieval Music to Come"

Unto Ashes
----------
Unto Ashes, a neo-Medieval dirge band...are primarily focused on the exploration of beauty and terror in the realms of shadow and loss. They utilize acoustic and synthetic instruments to produce a foreboding gloomscape of trance and drone.
Unto Ashes is a band from the USA that started doing music back in 1996. During the years they have been released a couple of times on the Projekt Record label, and also Kalinkaland.
Unto Ashes are: Michael Laird, Natalia Lincoln and Mariko

Abnocto
-------
A waerloga records band with Simon Kölle and Simon Heath. Abnocto´s music is filled with gothic choires, atmospheres, chamber pianos, violins and much more. They have a contract with Waerloga records for a full CD but it has been postponed a little due to some mixing details. A total of 5 of the tracks that will be on the debut have now been heard on Compilations. They have also done music for a film called Tulpa alongside Raison Detré and Mogwai.

Sagor & Swing
-------------
This is a unique Swedish duo sounding a little like a modern take of Bo Hansson and Karlsson (famous for a Lord of the rings inspired LP/CD made in the 70s).
Sagor & Swing are Eric Malmberg and Ulf Möller.
They play organ and drums and therefore on this compilation they stand out. They have a way of growing on you, we promise!
They have mostly been released by the Swedish label Häpna but also appear on several compilations.

If you know Swedish read more here: http://www.sagorochswing.com

Volstoj
-------
This is a brand new act formed for this compilation. Who knows if they work again in the future? We sure hope so. Dimitrij Volstoj and Simon Kölle made the song "Siege" together and as far as we know that´s the only song this duo has made so far!
Dimitrij is a Russian director and composer. He contacted Simon with ideas of using some of his work with the Latonovo army choir together with Simon's sound effects and drums.
The result is an atmospheric song which paints a picture of a war in the middle ages.

Vagrant´s Steps
--------------
Tom Hall is the New Zealander behind Vagrant´s Steps. Tom is unsigned for the moment but might be signed soon. Vagrant's Steps creates neoclassical music with clear hints of dark ambient and folk. On the compilation we asked Simon Kölle to mix together not less than three Vagrant´s Steps tracks into one. The result is a song that grows on you for sure. Good melodies and atmosphere.
Tom is promising and we feel this project can evolve fast. The sky is the limit (or is it?)
